Risky Business has scooped another Lizzie award for excellence in IT media at this year's Mediaconnect IT Journalism Awards.

The podcast edged out competition from other IT publishers and the ABC to take the award for Best Technology Audio Program for the third year running.

Big thanks go out to all the listeners who make Risky Business a viable media outlet, the guests who take the time to appear on the show, to the sponsors who keep a roof over my head and of course massive thanks to Adam Boileau for his consistently insightful and lulzy turns as our regular news guest.

Congratulations!

I really like your podcast: Its valuable content and the delightful way you deliver it. ;-)
So it is a very good opportunity for me to thank you and tell you how much I value your work.

It may also be an opportunity to suggest you stop blipping out the profanities because it slightly hinders my understanding (not being an English native speaker).

Best regards,

Daniel Halber

P.S. Yes, I am slightly late in responding; but I'd blame that on the time it took for your file to reach France -- do you have any farther listeners?

Hey there Daniel, thanks for

Hey there Daniel, thanks for your note.

The reason we blip out profanities is not that we think Risky Business listeners have delicate ear drums, it's more that many of our listeners have children and enjoy listening to the podcast in their houses/cars etc. They don't want their kids hearing "naughty words," so we bleep.

I once looked at the geography of RB listeners, and they're pretty much everywhere except North Korea. :)

Congratulations on the Award and Thanks for all the Bleeps

Pat, I wanted to say Congratulations on the award! Well deserved! RB is **Excellent** every week, so thank you very much.

I listen to a variety of podcasts but of course, Risky Biz is the best. And I do want to thank you for the bleeps for the very reason you mentioned above. I'm fine with it, but my wife and some co-workers, not so much.

Just out of curiosity, what podcasts do you listen to?

Thanks for that Dave! As for

Thanks for that Dave!

As for podcasts, I don't really listen to a lot of tech stuff. I'm a complete sucker for all things ABC radio though... Radio National podcasts all its shows... big fan of Rear Vision, Background Briefing, The Philosophers Zone... pretty much all of them.

A lot of it is Australia-focussed, but a great deal is of interest to everyone. Check them out here:

Option to bleep the bleeps?

Hi Patrick,

Thank you for your consistent high quality and professional format. Too many security podcasts try (unsuccessfully) to re-create the experience of hanging out with friends at a bar after the conference. It's refreshing to be able to get fresh and pertinent content from someone who respects both the subject matter and the innate humor.

It would be lovely if there were a non-bleeped feed, even of just the news. I listen to podcasts during my daily commute, and your news section is the perfect length, but the bleeps are [BLEEP]ing distracting.

Cheers mate, you deserve the award yet again.

Belated Congrats!

I’ve been without my internet connection for a few months and only just caught up to the podcast.

Like others, I usually download it and listen to them on my daily commute and I've yet to listen to an episode where I didn't learn something or gain a new perspective. The best part is that you guys make infosec fun and easy to digest without skimping on the juicy technical bits!

A well-deserved award, keep up the great work guys!

Regards,

Daniel Sawyer
