This week's edition of Risky Business is hosted by Vigabyte virtual hosting and brought to you by Check Point.

On this week's show we'll be joined by Gartner analyst Andrew Walls, who's got some less than reassuring things to say about the security of your job in the long term. Apparently the great big destructive meteor, "outsourcing," is about to collide with planet infosec, and when that happens it'll be grim indeed.

Jobs In India

The world is a changing place. Any "low cost geography" is being investigated by responsible management (responsible from a profit perspective). India, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia, etc, etc

When they can get two of you (or more) for the same salary and often better qualified, the obvious question is why not.

Don't get me wrong I have an ethical problem with this, but the facts are, well, the facts.

The security of your job

While we are sorry to hear that your job in infosec isn't secure did anybody think that infosec jobs had some kind of special dispensation from economics? There really can't be much residual interest in hearing about your eventual discovery of your lack of job security. Time to move on. Nothing to hear here.

I'm sure there are plenty of listeners who would be interested to know which types of jobs will be outsourced first, and how they might be able to position themselves to ensure their job security... that was really what the interview was about.

Did you actually listen to the interview with Andrew?
